Rubber Lagged Pulley

Lagged with rubber to increase traction and prevent slippage.

Overview

Rubber lagged pulley is a conveyor pulley with a wear-resistant rubber layer bonded to its surface. This lagging enhances friction between the pulley and the conveyor belt, preventing slippage and extending the service life of both components.

It is ideal for heavy-duty or wet environments.

Structure Composition

The rubber lagged pulley consists of a steel drum shell, shaft, bearing assemblies, and an outer rubber covering. Lagging can be applied via cold bonding or hot vulcanization, with available surface patterns such as plain, diamond, or chevron.

Custom Options & Parameters

Rubber lagged pulleys are coated with rubber to enhance friction with the conveyor belt, and are widely used as drive or bend pulleys. The main customizable parameters include:
Pulley Dimensions: Common diameters range from φ220 to 1000mm, with lengths matched to belt width (e.g., 1000mm, 1200mm, 1600mm).
Lagging Material & Type: Options include natural rubber, wear-resistant rubber, flame-retardant rubber, or oil-resistant rubber. Surface types include plain, diamond-pattern, or ceramic lagging.
Lagging Thickness & Hardness: Typical rubber thickness is 8–15mm; hardness ranges from 60–75 Shore A, and can be adjusted per application.
Shaft Diameter & End Design: Multiple shaft sizes available with keyway, locking bush, or flange end types to suit different system connections.
Dynamic Balance & Processing: For high-speed or heavy-duty use, optional post-lagging dynamic balancing and precision finishing are available to ensure smooth performance.

Manufacturing & Quality Control

Rubber lagged pulleys require precision and robust workmanship. We employ specialized machinery and controlled processes to ensure strong adhesion and reliable performance:
High-Quality Drum Base: Fabricated from seamless steel pipes and alloy shafts, machined and welded to support high-load drive systems.
Lagging Process: Rubber is bonded using cold or hot vulcanization under high pressure, ensuring firm adhesion and resistance to peeling.
Precision Machining & Balancing: Both pre- and post-lagging machining ensure roundness and concentricity, followed by dynamic/static balance testing.
Surface Treatment: The rubber surface may be anti-aging treated, and non-lagged areas receive protective coatings such as painting or galvanizing.
Complete Quality Assurance: Includes raw material inspection, rubber adhesion strength tests, dimensional checks, and operational testing for reliability in the field.

FAQ or Maintenance Tips

·FAQ
